We love, love, love being out the Old Wide Awake Plantation! It’s always a beautiful day and if you’re looking for a venue that is very natural, organic and simple, this is your place! J. W. Events did an excellent job putting everything together and we hope to work with Justin again; he’s fun, professional and exactly what you would look for in a planner! We can’t leave out EventWorks Rentals though! Always showing up very professional and getting the job done quickly.

On to cocktail hour! Guests loved our Mini Braised Pork Taco with Red Cabbage and Cilantro Slaw that our servers passed around. It’s a fun mix up from any ordinary hors d’oeuvre! We also butlered our Low Country Boil Croquette with Diced Smoke Sausage, Shrimp, Smashed Red Potatoes, Corn, and Tangy Cocktail Sauce, and our Fried Green Tomato with Pimento Cheese and Crumbled Bacon that leaves everyone wanting more!

For the dinner portion of the evening, we served to guests our Watermelon and Arugula Salad topped with Feta, Toasted Pine nuts, Pickled Shallot and a light Champagne Vinaigrette. Soon after, dinner stations opened and we had our Garlic, Herb, and Balsamic Marinated Flank Steak with Herb Roasted Baby Red Potatoes. On the other side, we served our Marinated Grilled Chicken Breast with Fresh Pesto and Roasted Broccolini. These two stations go hand-and-hand and we love the options!

If you’re looking for a trendy way to do a dessert display, we highly recommend what Madison and Casey thought of: a donut wall! It was a hit! Family and friends loved being able to go grab a donut of their choice and head off to dancing. Mini desserts are a fun way to escape that traditional mold of cutting a cake and everyone seems to love them!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Snipes!
