Oh, do we love a wedding in the springtime! The colorful hues, fresh produce, and spring air are enough to make any wedding guest (or vendor!) swoon.

What better place to showcase the beautiful spring weather than Old Wide Awake Plantation? This quaint plantation home resides in Hollywood, SC, just a short drive from our home base in West Ashley. This venue is the Lowcountry at it’s finest, and was once used as a rest stop along the river for travelers. The rich history of this home combined with the stunning grounds and pond views make for a truly unforgettable experience.

We were lucky enough to be part of a wedding with a bride who was a planner herself, so we knew we were in for a really special reception! Our bride’s “something blue” was featured throughout her linens and décor, and her guests enjoyed many Southern favorites.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed our Lowcountry Bistro Display – Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Fruits, Domestic and Imported Cheese, and Assortment of Crackers, Fresh Baked Artisan Breads, and Housemade Dips. Moving into dinner, our Rocks Glass Salad Station is always a hit, especially when accompanied by other delicious items like our Flank Steak Carving Station, and Pecan Encrusted Chicken Breast Tapas with Green Beans Sauteed with Bacon and Onion. Lastly, our Mac and Cheese Station was a perfect balance to give guests a chance to add their own yummy toppings to our already decadent mac and cheese.. Our sauce alone cooks for four hours before even reaching the noodles.. There’s a lot of love in that Mac!

Happy first anniversary to K + M! We hope the first year of marriage was just as blissful as your beautiful wedding day.
