Anytime our clients tell us they’ve chosen The Legare Waring House as their venue, we know it’s going to be stunningly beautiful, memorable night! All eyes were on J + J as they said their vows in the Avenue of Oaks (one of our favorite ceremony spots of all time!) and Nicki from Pinnacle Charleston made sure everything was in place and picture perfect. The space was decorated with shades of slate blue, beige and gold accents, highlighted by artfully draped café lighting over the patio.
To go along with our Sweet Sipping Station during cocktail hour, we butlered our hot Mini Crab Cakes with Lemon Dill Aioli, Fried Chicken Topped Mini Waffle Bite with a Pecan Waffle and Maple Dijon Drizzle, and our seasonal and delicious Goat Cheese and Fig Crostini with Tangy Goat Cheese, Thyme and Red Wine Infused Fig Compote.
As the Watering Hole Bar Service served up some fresh cocktails, we prepared for dinner while guests were gathering for the introductions. We started by serving guests our signature B. Gourmet Salad with Candied Pecans, Strawberries, Goat Cheese Crumbles and Balsamic Vinaigrette atop fresh Local Greens. Following salad, guests headed up to our dinner stations! What’s better than a juicy Braised Short Rib with Smashed Potatoes; Gruyere, Arugula, and Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breast served with Caramelized Shallot Pan Sauce served with Roasted Broccolini; and finally Shrimp and Grits with a French inspired twist?
To end the evening, our newlyweds had the best idea…a water balloon send off! This was a first for us but we hope it’s not the last. Our bride and groom met during a funny college situation (Go Hoosiers!) involving a water balloon (Hers) and an unsuspecting college freshman (Him) walking home to his dorm.. It only made sense to send off our bride a groom in the same way that the whole love story started! It was such a fun and unique idea that all the guests had fun partaking in.
