What a whirlwind of a 24 hour timespan to get this wedding planned! Originally, our sweet couple had planned on their wedding reception taking place on a beautiful, sunny Saturday in September at Magnolia Plantation’s Carriage House.. Little did they know, Mother Nature had other plans for them and threw Hurricane Irma into the mix, forcing their venue to close on the weekend of their wedding. Furthermore, our couple lives overseas in England, making it nearly impossible to reschedule the day for all of the guests who flew internationally to witness their special day.
So what does team B. Gourmet do? We jump into action, working around the clock to ensure that their day happens.. Even if it means we push everything up one full day, and move to a different venue! While originally, our couple had planned on hosting their reception at the Carriage House, it was unavailable due to another reception being hosted the day we moved the reception to. Instead, we opted to try out Magnolia Plantation’s Pavilion. Never before used for a wedding reception, we realized we were in for a challenge! Originally having planned for a venue with ample power, light, restrooms, and running water, and moving to a open air park pavilion requires extensive logistical planning. We’re so proud to have seen the day take place, and despite all odds, it was one of our favorite receptions of the entire year.
Our bride was absolutely stunning, and her groom could not be more overjoyed that the wedding was able to take place. We loved that they thought outside the box, and chose to incorporate their love story into the menu. They met in China (Chicken Satay), were engaged in Italy (Caprese Skewer), live in England (Fish and Chips), and hosted their wedding reception here in Charleston (Fried Green Tomatoes). We’ve always felt that food is sentimental.. It brings people together, and some of the most wonderful memories are created surrounding an amazing meal – this wedding reception is a perfect example of that!
This reception is definitely one for the books, y’all! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
